I’m pretty open to a lot of different kinds of soaps and creams, gels and foams. I also ride the fence when it comes to lather. I like a thin lather as long as it has a smooth outcome with minimal irritation. its crazy to think that you will never have razor burn, and, even the most experienced shaver will get razor burn occasionally. I’m also a lather guy as well. I love a good lather and Elvado classic shave brush soap gives you that and so much more. I’ve read a lot of reviews on Elvado and they have all been good reviews. In fact I haven’t read a bad review on Elvado yet. The one thing that every review I’ve read talks about is the over abundance of lather Elvado produces. I will talk about that later on. After reading all these great reviews I sent an Email to Elvado and got a very quick response which is impressive to me. It means that the fine folks at Elvado classic shaving brush soap pays attention to their customer and it shows through their amazing product and their excellent customer service. Elvado classic shaving brush soap is Bio-pure vegan certified. For Elvado products to carry the label Vegan certified it has to meet this criteria as explained and stated on this website Thewellappointedgentleman.com, here is some of the criteria listed below.

The Vegan Awareness Foundation requires that products approved must
  • not contain meat, fish, fowl, animal by-products (including silk or dyes from insects), eggs or egg products, milk or milk products, honey or honey bee products
  • involve no animal testing of ingredients or finished product by supplier, producer, manufacturer or independent party
  • provide supplier verification that animal products were not used in the manufacturing of ingredients
  • contain no known animal-derived GMOs or genes used to manufacture ingredients or finished products

Companies must submit and have approved by the Vegan Awareness Foundation that acceptable steps are taken to thoroughly clean and sanitize all surfaces, vessels, utensils and machinery used between vegan and non-vegan production cycles to minimize cross-contamination if shared machinery is used. The website, Thewellappointedgentleman.com also states what Bio-Pure means as well. Bio-Pure products are certified vegan, certified no animal testing or products, non-comedogenic, biodegradable, hypo-allergenic and gluten free. Their products are free of lanolin, tallow, nanoparticles, parabens, Urea, propylene glycol, silicone, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate, petrolatum oil, mineral oil, synthetic fragrance oils/musks or colors. They do not use any synthetic or artificial fragrances and their fragrance blends are 100% premium essential oils. You can read the page in its entirety by visiting Thewellappointedgentleman.com. This may seem like a lot of information but Elvado makes no attempt at hiding any detail of what their great shave soap is made out of, or, how its made. One thing is for certain after the first time you shave with Elvado classic shaving brush soap you are going to be happy you did.

I tried two different scents by Elvado classic shaving brush soap, West Indies Bay Rum and the Wild Mint Lime as well as two after-shave balms the West Indies Bay Rum and unscented aftershave balm. I was excited to try the shave soap after remembering the product reviews describing the over-abundance of lather that Elvado produces. Elvados directions for their classic brush soap are soak your brush in warm water and then swirl your brush over the soap for 30-45 seconds and then apply wetting brush occasionally for a thick and luxurious shave. I followed the 30-45 second rule and immediately saw what all the reviews of the Elvado classic shaving brush soap were talking about. The lather was starting to thicken quickly. I transferred the already thickening lather to my shave bowl and continued to work the lather into a big bowl of creamy goodness of rich, thick lather ready to be applied to my dome and face. Before I applied the lather. The more water I added to the Elvado classic shaving brush soap the thicker the lather got while growing into an overabundance of Bio-Pure Vegan certified lather. It was very exciting to see the Elvado shave soap lather to such an extent it becomes overabundance. And all just from an initial 30-45 seconds. On the lid of the shaving soap at the bottom it says yields over 180 shaves. I believe that from the lather I’ve seen produced by the Elvado classic shave soap. I’m sure you could cut your rotation time down to 15 seconds and still have an overabundance of lather for you shaving experience with Elvado classic shaving brush soap.

Not only does the lather work up into an overabundance in your shave bowl, the lather stays in your brush clinging to the bristles with a thick lather until you want it again. The lather has a rich and thick application that coats your dome and face in a nice layer of smooth lather that provides a great cushion with a very smooth shave. The more you work the already thick lather, the more lather the Elvado classic shaving brush soap produces. The level of slickness that is added by this fantastic shave soap by Elvado makes shaving your dome and face as comfortable as you can when shaving with Elvado classic shaving brush soap. When my dome and face shave was completed I still had enough lather in my bowl and on my silver tip badger hair shave brush to complete another full dome and face shave. I’m sure if I added a few more drops of water to the fantastic lather it would re-work itself up into a lather frenzy once again. I was beginning to ask myself “is there no end to this lathering goodness” provided by Elvado classic shaving brush soap? What are they putting in this stuff? oh wait, its Bio-Pure and all vegan! meaning nothing harmful going on your skin with Elvado classic shaving brush soap. Elvado classic shaving brush soap has a mild aroma to it from the premium essential oils and resins, the aroma is faint but noticeable. The aroma has an undertone that does not intensify during use.

So what do you add to a perfect shave to make it better? How about a great aftershave balm to add that extra layer of moisture and protection to your dome. The aftershave balm from Elvado is a nice touch to an already perfect shave. The aftershave balm from Elvado has a nice consistency with a cooling affect on your dome, and, yes it’s also Bio-Pure Vegan certified so not to worry about using one very friendly shaving product with a not so friendly shaving product. Youre vegan all the way around with Elvado. 5-6 pumps with this proportion friendly bottle and your dome is on its way to a smooth and shiny glow that is also very healthy for you and the environment since Elvado is Bio-Pure and vegan certified. You definitely don’t need the Elvado Bio-Pure Classic After-Shave Balm added to you post shave routine when using Elvado classic shave brush soap to get a close smooth shave. My question for you is, why would you not want to add to the perfect shave for a great smooth finish that leaves your dome nice and soft and plenty hydrated until you once again use Elvado shave soap to acquire the perfect shaving experience Elvado can provide. I’ve said it once and ill say it again. Using a pre-shave oil and exfoliant as a pre-prep shaving preventative to razor burn, cuts and scrapes, and, an exfoliant with after-shave balm as a post-prep shaving preventative towards cut, scrapes and razor-burn just makes sense to me. using all three pre-shave oil, exfoliant, aftershave balm with an added moisturizer as a finishing touch keeps your dome well hydrated and your skin soft and smooth, that in itself helps prevent all the nasty little cuts and scrapes you may acquire along with razor-burn during your shaving experiences.

So what are my final thoughts on the Elvado Bio-Pure and vegan certified classic shaving brush soap and aftershave balm? Top notch every step of the way. Its Bio-Pure and vegan certified leaving less chemicals soaking into your dome. It takes very little product to create an over abundance of lather that is thick and rich. The lather can be worked many times creating more lather with a great cushion and added slickness that provides the best Elvado smooth shave to your dome and face that Elvado can provide. Elvado Bio-Pure vegan certified classic shaving brush soap leaves your skin feeling clean and fresh with a level of smoothness to make you think about your next shave with Elvado an everyday occurance.
