WSP Week Two Summary

WSP always shaving against the grain!

With the end of the second week out of the 6 week shave project I looked at why WSP soaps are so much more dense than any of the other soaps I’ve tried in the past. It didn’t take long to find the answer. It’s right there in plain view on Lee’s website. All of WSP’s soaps are concentrated making each tin of soap weight in at 125 grams 4.4 ounces by weight. It is very noticeable when you hold each tin of soap what concentrated means when compared by weight of another tin of soap. he more I use the shave soaps from WSP the more I realize just how much of a craftsman Lee really is and how fantastic his soaps are. It’s no surprise to me why he has the following that he does, and why his soap is so popular among other wet shaver or any shaver as well.

If you still don’t have an understanding of what a concentrated product really is, or, having a hard time grasping this concept let me explain it to you this way. When holding the tin of WSP soap flat on the palm of your hand it feels heavy in comparison to other tins of soap. The next logical thought you probably would have is, this soap must take a lot of work building a lather because its heavy. The fact of the matter is, it takes very little work and product to build a respectable pre-lather. Only about 30 seconds is all that you need to build a great pre-lather that’s transferred into your shave bowl. From there you can continue to build your lather into the rich and creamy lather that WSP soaps can provide. After transferred into your shave bowl you can continue to work your lather into the consistency that best suits you for your nightly or daily shave.

This is the end of the second week out of the six week shave project with WSP soaps and each shave has been just as fantastic as the last. The lather is rich and thick with a smooth feel. The robust lather has an increased slickness that provides your razor with a lot of support while shaving your Dome or face. There is no difference in function between the six shaving soaps I’m currently shaving with. I have noticed that the overall suppleness of the skin on my Dome and face has improved and has a nice soft and smooth feel about it. I contribute these qualities to the ingredients found in each one of the six shave soaps in use from WSP. The Stearic Acid, Water, Coconut Oil, Potassium Hydroxide, Glycerin and Fragrance are all vegan ingredients that add and keep hydration of the skin, help fight skin disorders such as Acne and Eczema, help heal skin conditions such as cuts, scrapes, burns and razor burn. The only difference between the six scents of WSP shave soaps that are currently in use are the different aromas each soap has. The aromas are strong but subtle. Even when smelling the soap while it’s in the container close to my nose, the scent of the soaps are non aggressive. That just goes to show that WSP makes fantastic soaps and that Lee the owner and founder has found his true calling when it comes to soap making. Love you products and you will love the results. Thank you and have a #Baldtastic day.
