Menthol Project Week Two Summary

Menthol Project

At the end of week two of the six week menthol project the skin on my dome and face feel as smooth as ever. I decided to add Soap Commander to the project. I’m a huge fan of Soap Commander and I love what their soap brings to your shaving routine. Soap Commander produces a lather that is very creamy and has an above average cushion that helps decrease the risk of razor, cuts an nicks. The Soap Commander ‘Vision’ Aqua, Amber and Mint shave soap may not contain Menthol or Peppermint but it still feels very cool on your skin so that’s why I decided to add it. I decided to focus on blooming my shave soap every night to unlock the true potential of each soap I used for the week.

If you haven’t bloomed your shave soap yet I suggest you try it. The purpose of blooming is to soften your soap so you get a creamy and thick lather right away. It’s really easy to bloom shave soap. First off you don’t bloom soft shave soap because it ruins the consistency of the soap, you only bloom hard consistency shave soap. You cover the top of your soap with hot water and let it soak for 10-15 minutes. Once the soap has soaked long enough drain the excess water into a separate container and sit it off to the side for later use. Now your ready to start building some lather. It should only take a couple of rotations of your shave brush to create a shave ready lather with a good cushion and slickness. If the soap becomes to dry use some of the water you saved in a separate container to rehydrate the lather. The water you saved is infused with soap and helps to keep the lather creamy.

I bloomed each soap with the same results every time. Each soap produced a thick lather that felt luxurious on my skin. At the end of the second week of the six week Menthol project my skin still feels soft and smooth. Love your products and you will love the results. Thank you and have a #Baldtastic day
