Menthol Project Week Five Summary

Menthol Project

As week five of the six week menthol project ends and the whole project is starting to come to an end, I first want to report that my skin still feels soft and smooth. No irritation, cuts or nicks to report. Each shave this past week has been great. The menthol or peppermint ingredient used in each soap has added a welcomed coolness at the end of each shave that lasts into the night. What makes me sad about the end of this menthol project is that I’m going to have to move on to a new project leaving these soaps behind. Oh believe me they are going right back into my shaving cabinet for later use and they will resurface in the future once again. Until then it’s onward and upward. So with this summary I want to once again talk about the soaps and creams I’ve had the luxury of reviewing all week as a whole.

I’ve actually reviewed all of these soaps and creams once before in past product reviews but never as a whole project. My goal is to continuously use these shaving products that contain menthol and peppermint and note any good or bad changes in the skin. I also wanted to compare quality and amount of lather along with what kind of cushion produced by each soap. Although I really had no doubt that these shaving products would have good attributes for my skin, you never know what effect long term use of certain products could have. I’m happy to report that the last five weeks have been exceptional and you would be happy with long term use of any one of these shaving soaps or creams.

The Ice Pac shave soap from WolfPac Shaving provided a robust and creamy lather with a nice cushion for a comfortable shave. The Ice Pac shave soap contains some natural ingredients such as Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, Glycerin and Menthol. Dr.Bronner’s Peppermint shave soap is more like a gel than a cream or soap. It comes in a squeezable tube with a flip top lid. A little goes a long way to coat your skin with a nice layer of shave soap that adds a lot of glide to your daily or nightly shave. Dr.Bronners also contains a lot of natural ingredients such as Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Palm Kernel Oil, Organic Olive Oil, Organic Hemp Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Peppermint Oil and Organic Spearmint Oil.

Soap commander is a beloved soap in the wet shaving community. Soap commander comes in a round container that leaves you plenty of room for building a thick shave ready lather that’s perfect for achieving a perfect shave. Soap Commander contains Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Glycerin and Castor Oil. These natural ingredients provide a lot of quality and positive attributes for your skin. The Cremo Creme Cooling shave cream is concentrated meaning a little bit goes a long way. It’s a latherless shave cream that you apply by hand. Apply a dime size amount of cream to your skin and start rubbing it in. The Cremo Crème does lather a little bit as you are rubbing into the skin but not like a lathering shave soap. If the cream dries up to fast just apply a couple of drops of water to the area intended for shaving and the soap comes back to life. It’s a fantastic soap that adds a lot of value to your shaving routine. The Cremo Crème contains some natural ingredients such as Tea Tree Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, Peppermint Oil and Menthol.

The Spearmint Menthol shave soap from FuzzyFace Soaps is another product that I’ve been reviewing that has a fantastic scent as well as a fantastic post shave end feel. It lathers quick and produces a lot of lather. There’s enough room in the same tin as the soap for lathering. I noticed the longer the lather sits, the more chill there is on the skin during shaving, I love this feature of the FuzzyFace Soaps. Some of the natural ingredients used in making this soap consist of Tallow, Shea Butter, Castor Oil, Spearmint, Essential Oils and Glycerin. Queen Charlottes Vostok has a great menthol scent and cooling post shave feel. Although not as strong and cooling as some of the others but still a great shave and definitely a soap I will continue to use. Vostok has several natural ingredients that just make this shaving soap fantastic, these ingredients are Glycerin, Tallow, Palm Oil, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Aloe Vera, Kaolin Clay, Vitamin E and Menthol. Krampert’s Finest is a softer shave soap that provides a very thick lather that feels very soft and cooling on your skin. I really like Krampert’s finest, their soap is very smooth and has a great post shave end feel the Coconut Oil and Glycerin make each shave that much better for your skin. At the end of week five I have no complaints only praises for all of the soaps I’ve been using for the Menthol Project. Love your product and you will love the results. Thank you and have a #Baldtastic day.
