Colonel Conk Week Five Summary

Colonel Conk

Welcome to week five of the six week shave project with the Colonel Conk shave products. Once again at the end of week five I can honestly say that I have had no problems with irritation, razor burn, cuts or nicks while using the Colonel Conk products. This six week project is coming to its end and I wanted to talk a little bit about what I think is an important aspect of a shaving routine that also adds value to your skin care regimen. Before I get to that I want to also talk about shaving routines in general. I think a successful shaving routine consist of products that not only improves the quality of shave you are getting, but also the integrity of your skin as well.

I have had the privilege of reviewing the Colonel Conk natural shave oil and after shave balm these last six weeks and I really feel that they have added value to each shave when used. The natural shaving oil and after shave balm won’t clog the pores of your skin or leave behind a greasy residue. These natural products soak into your skin quickly and one of the best parts is they don’t contain a lot of ingredients that are harmful or will irritate your skin as they are being used. The natural shaving oil and after shave balm do not contain Parabens, Synthetic Fragrances, Artificial Colors or Dyes, Formaldehyde, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Petrolateum, Animal Testing, Cocamide Diethanolamine, Cruelty Free, Wheat Free, Nut Free and Gluten Free. The natural line of shaving products contains less than 1% preservatives that help keep your product fresh for a longer time so you can enjoy the benefits of these natural products every time you use them in your shaving routine.

There’s no doubt about it, the Colonel Conk shaving products provide a comfortable shave with a very creamy and robust lather that has just as much slickness and smoothness. Through out the last five weeks I’ve practiced a technique that has improved each shave’s comfort and smoothness level. This technique has also increased the slickness level that only increases the quality of shave and post shave feel each and every time. The technique I’m talking about if warming your lather. I’m not talking about warm lather that starts of warm and is cold by the end of your shave. I’m referring to keeping your lather warm from the start of your shave to the end of your shave. It’s very easy to do and you may already have the materials in your shave den or kitchen to do it.

Warm lather on your skin has a very luxurious and soothing feel if its done right. The consistency is important. If the consistency is to thin in the beginning then your lather will be to runny. The lather needs to be on the thicker side the constant warmth will thin the consistency a little bit so the thicker the lather the better in the beginning. I prepared my lather in a smaller size porcelain apothecary shave bowl and submerged it halfway in a round plastic container that’s wider in diameter than my apothecary shave bowl. The handle on the side of the shave bowl allows it to rest comfortably in one spot and prevents it from moving around. The hot water surrounds the porcelain shave bowl and heats up the lather. Rework your lather several times during your shave to keep the warmth consistent through out the lather. The warm lather will feel fantastic on your skin every time and provide a more comfortable shave. My six week shave project with the Colonel Conk shaving products is starting to come to an end. I can’t wait to see what week six is like. Love your products and you will love the results. Thank you and have a #Baldtastic day.
