Contrary to popular belief Vikings were not all big and smelly. After doing some research that’s just simply not the case. In fact Vikings were known to have types of nail clippers, tweezers, utensils to clean vikingsoap_27106042394_otheir ears and razors for shaving. Vikings also took baths on a weekly basis. This tells me that they were big into personal hygiene and even though their utensils for hygiene were crude by todays standards they got the job done. I’m a big fan of Vikings and Norse Mythology and I’m also a big fan of shaving so it’s no wonder why I had to try VikingSoap.Com  when I found them on social media.

The founder of VikingSoap.Com is also a wet shaving enthusiastvikingsoap_27106060314_o that turned his love for wet shaving into a bigger adventure by not only creating his own blend of shave soap but also including beard oil, AfterShave balm and splash and body soap. From what I read there is more to come. I look forward to watching his site and the new products that he is developing. The wet shaving world can only get better if his products to come are like the ones I’ve already tried. If you have not tried the shaving products from VikingSoap.Com you should it may just be your next perfect shave.

The package from Viking Soap contained one tub of “OLD NORSE’ shave soap, a bottle of ‘IRONSIDE’ shave balm and a bottle of ‘SKEGG’ beard oil. I read several positive reviews on the Viking Soap products so I was really looking forward to trying them for myself.vikingsoap_27107861543_o The ‘Skegg’ beard oil came packaged in a 1.7 oz blue glass vial with a dropper style screw on top. The glass vial keeps your oil fresh and natural, it’s not soaking up nasty chemicals like it would if the vial was made out of plastic. The coloring of the glass vile keeps the oil out of direct sunlight preserving its freshness and consistency. The dropper top helps conserve product. It only took ten drops of oil to coat my Dome and face. The ‘Skegg’ beard oil has a medium consistency that spreads nicely across your skin, leaving a thin layer of oil and adding extra slickness to the lather of your shave soap. The ‘Skegg’ beard oil is packed with oils and ingredients such as Coconut Oil, Avocadovikingsoap_27684426906_o Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Olive Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Jojoba Oil, Argan Oil, Glycerin, Vitamin E and an Essential Oil Blend. This blend of oils and ingredients keeps your skin fresh, rejuvenated and moisturized all at the same time.

The ‘OLDNORSE’ shaving soap came packaged in a 5.5 oz plastic tub with a lid that screwed on/off. There was enough room left in the tub that you could build your lather in and forget about using your shave bowl for the night and every time after that if that’s what you wanted to do. I really like using shave soap that comes in a container bigvikingsoap_27107879173_o enough to hold your lather it’s very resourceful and time-saving as well. Less to clean up after your done shaving and you can save your left over lather simply by just leaving it sit in the same container over night. The lather will dry up back into the soap until its time once again to shave.

The Viking shave soap is what you would call a ‘Croap’. A ‘Croap’ soap is a cross between a shave soap and a shave cream. Shave soap is a harder consistency that takes a little work to get a lather started. A shave cream is soft in consistency and takes minimal rotations with your brush to whip up a lather. A ‘Croap’ is softer and moldable with your finger tips. A ‘Croap’ soapvikingsoap_27617801502_o can be scooped out of its container and applied to your brush but takes a loading process to use. What I like about ‘Croap’ soaps is that it takes less time to create a shave ready lather. After rotating my hard bristled shave brush across the surface of the shave soap a couple of time it didn’t take long to start a respectable lather that very quickly turned rich and creamy ready for shaving. The ‘OLDNORSE’ shave soap cotes the skin of your Dome and face for a luxurious shave. The robust lather has a nice slickness and cushion that helped provide a comfortable shave every time. The barbershop style scented aroma was pleasantly sedentary perfect for avikingsoap_27718265585_o shaver that has an extra sensitive nose.

The ‘OLDNORSE’ shave soap has many ingredients that are not just good for your skin but feel good on your skin when combined together in a shave soap. The ‘OLDNORSE’ shave soap contains Tallow, Coconut Oil, Aloe Vera, Glycerin, Castor Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Mango Butter, Shea Butter, Apricot Kernel Oil, Shea Butter, Hydrolyzed Oats and Lanolin. These ingredients have many benefits for your skin such as keeping your skin soft and supple, protectingvikingsoap_27107867443_o the deep water content and moisture in your skin, creating a barrier that helps protect the skin from infection and bacteria, has anti-inflammatory properties helping the skin heal bug bites and insect stings, sunburn and wounds, anti bacterial properties helping to kill infection, tightens and tones the skin while keeping it soft and smooth. Those are just a few benefits some of the ingredients found in this shave soap offers your skin on a daily basis. Not only does the ‘OLDNORSE’ shave soap from Viking Soap keep your skin soft, supple and smooth but it also keeps your skin free from infection and helps to heal your skin as well. A great shave and a great skin care product in one.

After my nightly shave was done I finished it off with the ‘IRONSIDE’ Aftershave balm. The ‘IRONSIDE’ Aftershave balm comes packed in a 4 oz vikingsoap_27107858963_oplastic bottle with a pump style top, 3-4 pumps covered my Dome and face. The ‘IRONSIDE’ aftershave balm has a very thick consistency that almost reminds you of paste when applied. It spreads evenly and smoothly soaking into the skin quickly without leaving behind a greasy residue. It leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth ready for your nightly moisturizer. Apricot Kernel Oil, Mango Seed Butter, Glycerin, Allantoin, Vitamin E are some of the ingredients found in the ‘IRONSIDE’ aftershave balm that help with maintaining and increasing hydration, suppleness and moisturization levelsvikingsoap_27107844953_o in the skin, helping to protect your skin from sunburn, razor burn, burns, wounds and rashes, helping your skin fight Acne, black heads, Eczema, Psoriasis and improving the overall healthiness of your skin giving it a nice radiant glow. If that’s not enough to make you want to try the ‘IRONSIDE’ after shave balm from VikingSoap.com it also has a very masculine scent of black peppercorn, leather, patchouli, musk, and citrus that’s very pleasant. I was very pleased with the performance and post shave feel with the shaving products from VikingSoap.Com and I know you would be to if you tried them.

Final Thoughts

What are my final thoughts on the shaving products from VikingSoap.Com? A great shave with a good cushion and slickness. The beard oil is just the right consistency to add an extra layer of slickness to your lather increasing the cushion and comfort level. vikingsoap_27107844593_o The shave soap or ‘Croap’ creates a creamy and robust lather with a lot of cushion and slickness helping to prevent razor burn, cuts and nicks while providing a fantastic post shave feel. The aftershave balm has a thick paste like consistency that applies smoothly soaking into your skin quickly leaving it soft and supple. The beard oil, shave soap and aftershave balm from VikingSoap.Com all contain ingredients that have good qualities for your skin care regimen and even better for your shaving routine.
