Elvado Royal Tahitian Lime
Lather! Lather! Lather! who wants some lather? Oh yes lather gets me excited! Especially lather from Elvado For Men. Before I go any further I have to inform you that this particular Elvado product is not currently for sale yet. I have the honor and privilege to review this soon to be released new product from Elvado For Men. So now, let’s get back to the business at hand, the business of lather! If you are not familiar with the Elvado products let me fill you in and give you the skinny. First and foremost Elvado is known for their lathering soaps, and let me tell you that if it’s lather you want then it’s lather you will get with the Elvado shaving products.
I’ve completed several projects with Elvado and each shaving experience has been nothing shorter than fantastic. After seeing some posts around social media about their new shaving cream coming out on the market I asked right away if I could review it. Elvado said sure and before I knew it the new Elvado shaving cream was sitting on my door step just waiting to be used, and I couldn’t wait to try it! If you have not tried Elvado before I’m sure that you’re going to want to after reading this review. If this review doesn’t make you want to try it, then just try it any way, I know you will love it!
The Royal Tahitian Lime shaving cream with Avocdo and Shea Butter from Elvado comes in a 5.3 oz round aluminum tin. The label located on the top of the lid is circular in comparison to the container. The background of the label is black so the green and white lettering stand out. At the top of the label rests the Elvado logo and name. The label is simple yet elegant and very appealing to the eye. Elvado does a great job with packaging their products. In my opinion, it says a lot to me when a product not only performs well, but is also packaged well. It says that the brand loves the product that they are making and they want you to love it as well. Elvado does a great job making sure this happens. The Royal Tahitian Lime shaving cream from Elvado has a consistency that falls in between soft and hard but more on the harder side. I soaked my brush in warm water for about fifteen minutes allowing the bristles to open up in anticipation of filling them up with that good old-fashioned Elvado lather that I love. After my brush was ready, it only took about 15-20 seconds of rotations against the shaving cream to work up a decent pre-lather. I then transferred it to my shave bowl and continued to work it into a shave ready lather with additional water added as needed. Every shaver has their own thoughts of what the perfect lather should consist of. Whether it’s thick or thin, watery or thirsty how you like your lather is your own personal choice.
Speaking from past experiences with Elvado I would say their shaving products are a little on the thirsty side. Thirsty just means your lather requires extra water from time to time. How much water you add will determine the consistency of your lather. To much water at one time will water it down, not enough water will leave your lather thirsty all the time. Keeping your lather consistent is a technique that takes time and patience but is also a lot of fun. The lather filled my shave bowl from top to bottom with a smooth and creamy lather. The robust lather clung to the bristles of my shave brush blooming them like a flower. My blooming shave brush evenly applied the lather across my Dome and face. The texture of the lather was both comfortable and provided and increased slickness that aided my razor in gliding across my skin avoiding razor burn, cuts and nicks. The head shave was both soothing and relaxing. The face shave was just as comfortable. The post shave feel of my skin was moisturizing and supple.
I can’t say I was surprised by how well the Royal Tahitian Lime shaving cream from Elvado performed in terms of abundance of lather, the increased slickness the shaving product offered each shave, or the post shave feel after my nightly shave was completed. I wasn’t surprised because the other shaving products from Elvado provide the very same qualities. The new shaving cream from Elvado is simply following suite in providing a shaving product that is consistent in providing quality in many areas that makes a shaving product great. Elvado products contain Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, MeadowFoam Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, African Shea Butter creating a creamy and slippery cushion for your razor while actively nourishing the skin, Hydrates and Provides intense moisture while softening the skin promoting cell renewal. What are my final thoughts on the Royal Tahitian Lime shaving cream from Elvado? A fantastic shave from a fantastic product that provides quality for each shave from start to finish. The Royal Tahitian Lime shaving soap from Elvado provides an over abundance of lather that is both creamy and robust with an increased slickness that gives your razor an increased glide that leaves razor burn, cuts and nicks behind and not on your Dome and face.
